The colour is actually a dark grey. I have used gun metal grey in the past, but not sure what the exact code is. The guys that restore them knowit, but are reluctant to hand it out, as this would mean a drop in business.

Warren i believe he is talking about the little rim around the raised centre cap which is just a narrow ring with a certain black ?

AFTER BOTH COLOURS ON THE HUB CAP AND BELIEVE THE OUTER IS A DARK GREY METALLIC AND INSERT IS GM BLACK THANKS DAZZA AND WARREN

Yes dark grey outside, small black ring and red on teh centre.

No cods for any of these.

Now that rares remake these caps, some of the guys that rebuild them might let you know.

Hello Colin,

The grey colour used is one of the great mysteries in Monaroland. There is no trend as to the shade of grey/silver over the entire time these wheel trims were produced.

One theory I have heard was that the shade started out light and go

When Rare Spares had these remade the hardest part was to find the correct colour.There was no correct answer as everyone had different interpretations.The colours varied so an average was found that was accepted by the specialists who were rebuilding ori
