I am looking to get my Trimatic recod as the reverse has all but died. But i need some recommendations for where to get it done as I've heard too many horror stories of crap changeovers and shotty rebuilds.

Looking to get a top quality full rebuild, strengthened and a new stall put in. Happy to pay $$ for a good service

So far my options are

Central Automatics in Roseberry
Shipping it to Wholesale Automatic Transmissions

Anyone got any other places I can check out ?

And please don't tell me to put in a T400, the comp plates say trimatic. They also say GTS so its staying a trimatic ;)

http://www.alsraceglides.com.au/

They just built the box in my mates blown VT (5ltr) and theyve proven very knowledgable and helpful. Thats personal experience. Outside of that theyve got a very good reputation.

Also based on the amount of good reviews ive read and high-profile cars with outstanding performances:

Doesnt have to be a race style build of course, but those shops do all styles and you may as well beef it a little as a safeguard?

Hi, does it have to be Sydney, or would the northern side of Wollongong be ok?

I got my trimatic in my brougham done at the end of 07 by South Coast Automatics (02 4283 2388). Being just a Brougham, I didnt have to race prep it, but they did a fantastic job. And on time.

Been recommended Central Automatics a couple of times. Never had an auto rebuilt there, but likely will in near future.

I had a completely shagged M21 rebuilt there last year, and it was delivered on time at the right price.

or you could buy a $50 replacement off ebay, pick it up and swap over yourself - if it last another 2 years you saved a packet! ; )
