Ok been meaning to post a question for quite some time.
I have a HQ GTS coupe which has a chassis number that ends in MR, this is both stamped into the tag and onto the rail. Im 99.99% sure the tags and chassis stamping is genuine. Now can anyone confirm the R stands for a repeat chassis essentially meaning that there is another HQ out there with the same chassis number but without the R? ANy ideas?

Yes, the R is the first repeat, followed by R1 being the 2nd repeat, R2 being the 3rd etc.
I have some VL tags with R6 on them - human errors do occur!

Cheers,

Mick

As Mick says.

Thanks for the info Mick, there is no number after the R though, so perhaps more human error after the initial screw up! Sure would be interesting to find the other car/cars with the same number but seems like a long shot.

First repeat gets an R. Second gets R1, 3rd R2 etc. So a single R is right. You see the same thing on engine numbers sometimes.
