Hi Gents,

After having no success finding somewhere to spend $$$ on new door trims for the ute, I scored a couple of quite acceptable and correct Belmont door trims - unknown to me they were attached to a pair of doors bought off ebay for other parts! Happy with that.

Catch is, they are the wrong colour. So would anyone recommend certain brands of vinyl paint?

Bit of searching on net has found that one of the mid-priced' brands K & H seems well regarded by guys in the audio scene who obviously do a lot of fabrication and stuffing around with their interiors.
Lastly, I'm going to install both dash pad and bench with replacements - both have one little nick in the vinyl I'd like to repair before I put them in. Some kind of plastic 'weld' or patch would be fine as they are only very small but guess they would get worse once in the car. Anyone recommend a Sydney outfit for the job?

Thanks gents, couple of good references for VHT.

Jim, cheers - Im sure prep is going to be the most important part of the process.

Hopefully someone in Sydneys dealt with a good vinyl welder / repairer?

Was thanked: 2 time(s) in 2 post(s)

Uticolour did a great job on my Parents old Zephyr about 15 years ago. They patched the tears and re pained the door trims red as the top had faded to a nasty grey/pink shade.

If you are going to recolour your trims yourself clean them with a solvent that wont eat the plastic. Prepsol might work then clean them again before painting.

If at first you dont succeed then skydiving is not for you.
