I wanted to take the opportunity to update you on developments regarding the introduction of emissions testing in Western Australia following our email two weeks ago. We can now formally confirm that as of Friday last week a moratorium for up to six-months on IM240 vehicle emissions testing has been introduced to enable a review of the regulation with input from industry stakeholders.
The AAAA will be actively involved in the re-drafting of the new emission standards and the first stage of this process is the formation of a broad industry- based committee. The first meeting of this committee is on Wednesday 30th September. We will provide you with details of the revised testing regime once these are finalised.
