I have read the 'rules' on importing cars into Oz. Boy they make it difficult. I want to import a car, not yet purchased in NZ, so doesn't obviously meet the 12 month ownership. It will be a model made after the 1 Jan 89 so that's out too. The letter of compliance is something I can't get my head around. Can it be done???

Is it a car that was built in Australia at the same time?

I guess the thing you need to prove to the authorities is that the NZ delivered cars were built to the same spec as the Aussie delivered ones, and therefore meet local ADRs
