Hi, I'm after the vacuum cannister off a V8 XB with factory air conditioning. It's a small black item with 2 short pipes coming out of the top. Also, a good LH and RH rear quarter guard if anyone just has one kicking around (car rammed into me on Monday from behind) Cheers, Andrew

Bill, Thanks for the reply. The vacuum cannister is different. My car is 1974 and just before emmission control came in. The vacuum cannister is about half the size of the fuel vapour one. Cheers mate, Andrew

I've never seen a 74 model XB with this canister your on about. As 74 XB's don't run a canister. The canister appeared in Jul 1975.

How do I know? I've owned both 75 and 74 model XB's. I still have the 74 model XB now and my mate owns two 75mdl XB's.

Brendan, From what I can gather, XB GT auto's with factory air-cond suffered from a lack of vacuum when accelerated hard. So the factory put in the reservoir. YES - on the passenger side under the heater outlet. It's the size of a baked bean can. I have a
