Hi

Does anyone know if the under dash insulation on the HG makes much difference?

Anyone driven the same car with/without?

If Im going to do it I need to do it now and I do want a quiet cabin (I can always roll down the window to hear the engine:) ), but I was looking at it and can't see how it would make a lot of difference.

What about that leadvinyl stick on stuff that the audiofiles seem to like to install? Would that be better??

Cheers

Jeremy

Jeremy,

I think it makes a huge difference in any car. All the original under dash insulation in my WB Statesman had come away as the glue had lost its stickiness in the heat. I re-glued it all back where it was originally and it is noticeably quieter. Even the electric antenna isnt as loud inside the car now.

The factory stuff was that synthetic fibrous material, quite light and about 15mm thick. I think I know the leadvinyl stuff youre talking about - the biggest problem you have would be sticking it on surfaces that arent flat.

If you cover every bit of metal that is exposed, I think youll be quite happy with the results.

Hope this helps
Rhys
