having electrical problems,reverse lights come on in neutral and off in reverse it appears wiring to shifter solenoid is correct,also when i apply brakes the interior lights come on.
tail lights are now reverse lights,tail lights and brake lights dont work at all

What sort of car?.Ill bet its automatic!.Do you have any adjustment on the solinoid thing to line it up in reverse? Simply put the car (not running)in reverse and move the solinoid thing until the lights come on ,use a mirror if you are on your own.Dont know about the rest of your problem but it seems to be earth related to your brake pedal.

hi jim,sorted brake lights out.it is powerglide with hurst promatic 11 shifter,the solenoid appears fixed with no adjustment,at the moment i cant get park and will not select drive when in low. any idea on how to adjust cable.(maybe a new shifter is the go)cheers todd
