Hi

Just want to put out there peoples opinions about the genuine wheels, My understanding is as follows:

There were two Australian wheels one without the metal band (no grove for band) and one with the metal band,

Easiest way to tell an Australian wheel (in my books) is by the the Australian made wheels hade none of the 6 holes in the centre as did the American Wheels, these holes were to allow the screw to go through to the boss for there horn buttons to be fitted, where as our horns were attached to the centre boss piece, seeing as how the HK wheels were American manufactured they had the 6 holes in the middle

Also people say that the banded wheel is for HT HG, From my understanding The non banded wheel ( and yes there is a non banded Australian wheel) was from the HT and later on in the show the banded wheel a larger copy of the camaro wheel was produced, maybe fitted on some of the late HT models but mainly for the HG cars

I certainly am no expert and this is purely my opinion,

Just another note as i read a thread where a guy asked abt the rare spares one, i have had the HK wheels from Rare Spares and they certainly are a bad copy, i was actually embarresd selling it as they have a paper thin plastic layer laminated onto what appears to be a white wheel underneath, Also they supply a Rosewood one that from my understanding was a color option never fitted to and monaro

Hi

Actually The Aussie wheel had a 4" offset opposed to the same camaro wheel which has a 3" or even as low as a 2 1/2 inch offset, all aussie wheels hk ht hg were 4" deep, The same wheel that the HK used from America shared the 4" offset,

If you have a close look in the pictures above you will see the Australian wheel on the right has the deeper offset and no notches in the center section
