Ditto here,
I used a VN single spinner ( LSD Better but dearer ) got my 4" angle grinder and de bracketed all the trailing arm stuff away ( took 1 hour ) had a good friend weld on some spring pack hangers ($50.00, done with a jig ) and the only drawback is that the wheel offset has to go inwards a bit , as the commodore diffs are a bit wider , i dont recall how wider exactly , but i had 8 inch rims made with i think 4.5 " inwards off set( negative ) and run 265 x 15 x 8 in a HG Van ... they fit good and look good !
These diffs were used in v8 XF as far as i recall, and many other cars too, and i have read that they are good for 300 BHP...so it will suit my 307 very well :-) .. hope this helps... check for other threads !
And you will need the commodore tailshaft flange bit to get welded onto your drive shaft ... so more expense there !
All in all tho, cheaper than a 10 bolt or 9 "... but nah, not as strong... my diff conversion will owe me about $300.
