Hi guys,
So the ute project is moving along nicely, the front end is all sand blasted and the smoothing of the firewall has started but while i contemplate chopping the shock towers out to look at a mustang II setup, or coil over RRS setup, i've decided to move forward with the rear end cause i have no question on that suspension - 4 link is my only option.
My 2 questions playing on my mind before i can mock this up however are: - Sheet metal diffs; they look great but has anyone lived with one for more then 10 seconds at a time? I see no reason that these should be more problematic then a std diff, but obviously it depends on who builds it. I'm open to any suggestions on shops (sydney is local but i'm not fickle on freight for the right parts - its cheaper then a tow truck in 18 months time!)
- Secondly, my research on 9" diffs has turned up several factory styles from over the years. Allegedly they are not all offset housings (obviously from the front they are, but the rear view is asymmetrical). with the understanding that not all are created equal - is anyone familiar with the years/models of 9" to avoid?
Appreciate any thoughts.
Cheers!
