Hi all,
These carbies were fitted to EH - HD 179 and early HR 186 X2 models up to engine 186K 162700 after this the HR had the WW Stromberg and different headers.

The headers shown look like the ones with the heat tube making them late HR X2 from 186K 162701 and 186S HK T G,
XU-1 are different as they don't have the heat tube and the rear flange is on a more backward facing angle.

These carbies & manifolds are from an HD or HR X2. (They didn't make EH X2s, sorry Mike).

As Mike has said, the front exhaust manifold is from a 186S or LC GTR engine which utilise the heat tube for the auto choke which X2 & XU-1 engines didn't have. Having said that I have seen a lot of XU-1s fitted with this type of manifold. You can use this manifold with the X2 intake no problems.

The rear manifold also does belong to an X2 originally. These type, with the outlet more downwards was used on all X2s & the first few months of 186S engines. The later 186S rear exhaust manifold was the used for the last of the HR 186S & then all HK/T/G 186S, LC GTR & XU-1 except the late 1973 ones which had tubular extractors.

Dr Terry
