Gday,
Just wondering Ive looked down this path before and can not remember the date that the body numbers started matching the vin in Adelaide built cars etc.
I am pretty sure it was in 1977 that Adelaide started to do the matching number body to VIN like the other factories where all ready doing since HQ.
Does anyone know the exact month this started to happen in Adelaide? I have a HX that has a different body number to VIN. Its 3/77. I can 99% say the tags are all correct.

The only Adel HX I have with matching tags is 8/77.
3/77 should be in this ball park PSN L378xxx and body no. 230xxxA

Cheers Leroy. This van I have is Body 227431-A PSN (end of VIN) 375346X So seems its correct. I have a Sandman which im thinking of selling. Have been asked the question once already and sure others will so thought I would try to get of a idea. As Leroy says. I have no Elizabeth assembled Sandman with BODY number matching the PSN, but I do have 3 x 8/77 Dandenong HX Sandman vans and 1 x Pagewood HX Sandman van with Elizabeth BODY numbers that obviously match ficticious Elizabeth PSN's, ie around 388xxx-390xxx. July Elizabeth BODY numbers on Pagewood, Elizabeth and Dandenong vans are around 24xxxx so obviously a jump between 7/77 and 8/77.
This will all be in the book!

Interesting I have 2 tonners recorded with earlier PSN's and body numbers with 2/77 compliance dates dates. Might have been held up waiting for Sandy specific items.
