I'm just checking the number on my rochester. My HK 327 was built in Sept 68 and the number on the carb is 7028213 DY. I have seen rochesters with various numbers. Do these numbers belong to a HK 327?
thanks

I reckon the numbers mean:
70 = AC Rochester production
28 = 1968 no pollution
2 = no pollution
1 = Chevrolet
3 = manual transmission
DY = something to do with assembly plant would probably identify Holden HK or not?
someone else will verify this for us!

Series 1 327 uses only 7027213 DZ Arthur .
No HK 327s used the 7028213 that i have ever seen even though the numbers line up to 68 327 manual .
We all thought they did years ago , but not to be .
Theres a cheap 7027213 DZ on ebay i see . Go for it !

702 = 1960S, 8 = year produced 1968, 2 = federal standard ( not californian pollution carb ), 1 = chev, 3 = odd numbers ( manual transmissions ), DY = production plant code

2 means quadrajet not federal , and DY is the build/production broadcast sheet picking code.
Even the americans dont know their stuff as i am sure you read that on google somewhere .

So 2 doesn't = 4bbl federal standards, what about 5 = 4bbl californian standard, 1 = 2bbl federal & 4 = 2bbl californian
