Hi All, Is anyone clued up on a late model Rover V8 engines, thought of dropping into an FJ, rather than installing a V6 into it or should i stick with the V6, Rover V8's are used in the Ambulances over here in NZ a guy here who drives one suggested it, what are your views on this thanks

The Rover V8 was used in Australian P76's as a 4.4, plus it was also commonly found in Range Rovers as a 3.5 litre which grew into a 3.9? I think in later models. There was an LH Torana show car around in the early 1990's with a 4.4 in it. The 4.4 has a d

Hi Guys.

As a matter of trivial interest, the Rover & Commodore V6 are directly related.

In the early 60s Buick designed the alloy V8, which it then sold the design rights to Rover. But there was also a cast iron version & another version with 2 cyl
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Make sure its a late model EFI type donk. Don't even think about anything with a carb. They are thirsty !!!!!!!!!

The p76 motor is about 1" taller than the Rover motor.

There was an article about these engines in Street Machine a few years back. Based on a guy in Adelaide??? who built them up for these sorts of conversions. Might be worth looking for a back issue???
