I just tried to order some parts on the Rare Spares website and because my email address doesnt have .au on the end, it wouldnt let me process the order.

I couldnt even send an email as it came up with the same error on the enquiries page.

Can someone in the IT section of RS fix up this fault.

Hi Sean,
Can you please confirm when you experienced the problem described? On the night of the 10th we had an outage that would have caused problems similar to what you experienced, though this would have applied to any email address used. This problem was subsequently rectified at around 1:30 AM on the 11th AEST. In testing the system now we have found no fault.
Best regards,

David

David

Thank you for your response.

It was a pity no-one from RS posted this error on the forum, to inform people.

thanks

Sean

To be fair, I could have ordered over the phone but its a bit hard at work.

Its all fixed up now and the parts I wanted, I have ordered from the RS website.

Thanks.

Hi Sean,

Thats good to hear. In regard to posting on the forum it was one of those thing where we didnt realise there was a problem until we read your post, then it become clear what had happened. Posting on the forum after the fact would have been old news, and being the Fastlane forum wouldnt have reached all potentially affected customers any way. That said we have been thinking of ways in which we can notify customers of a problem in the event of a scheduled outage in the future.

All the best,
