I have a resonable idea of how to replace my water pump. is there anything i need to look out for. i'm no mechanic but am pretty good with tools. i've gone as far as pulling the radiator out, timing covers off. cheers

Hi Nick.

With the VL 6 cyl (Nissan Motor) you will have to remove & replace the timing belt to fit a new water pump.

Make sure the timing marks & belt tension are all correct, this is not really a job for a beginner.

If the current belt has done
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Yes and from memory a pulley too ! Repco have a kit for the VL that does all the belt & bits.

Unlike us old farts that drive ancient and grappy gas guzzlers with chain timing belts, the VL with all its Nissan smarts would tend to poop its pants and go
