Looking at buying a VK with an engine number of 11QT48596.Can anyone tell me if this is a 253 or 308 without me getting underneath and checking the casting number on the side of the block..?? I do not think it is the original engine. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much for the info. It now makes the car worth buying especially since it is rust free, has a good lowered suspension set up,great interior and a nine inch disc brake arse end in it. Seems like a steal for $1,000. Wish me luck...!!!
