Please excuse the constant questions.
I would like to know about 2 cars I might be buying.

First one is a copper? over very dark red/maroon? VK Calais:
model: vk8vx19-333
body: 128824-A
trim: 3036-73Y
paint: 2F 014-B
-L31 M40 G70-

Second one is a white over silver VK Calais:
model: vk8vx19-333
body: 170867-A
trim: 3038-23Y
paint: 1J 052-D
-LV2 M40 G70-

If someone can provide paint names(and where it denotes two tone) and all other info, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

VK Calais don't differentiate the 2-tone, as they all had silver bumpers & accents, so the trim combo, and paint code, are only for the single colour. The darker lower colour on the first one would not be standard - copper coloured Calais left the factory with silver on the lower sections.

model: vk8vx19-333 = VK Calais Sedan 5L auto
body: 128824-A = Adelaide build from around June 84
trim: 3036-73Y = Copper exterior paint + coppertone velour trim
paint: 2F 014-B = Paint name = "Copper"
-L31 M40 G70- = 308/5.0L/5044cc, trimatic, 2.6:1 axle ratio.

model: vk8vx19-333 = VK Calais Sedan 5L auto
body: 170867-A = Adelaide build from around June 85
trim: 3038-23Y = Alpine White exterior paint + cerulean velour trim
paint: 1J 052-D = Paint name = "Alpine White"
-LV2 M40 G70- = 304/4.9L/4987cc, trimatic, 2.6:1 axle ratio.
Cheers,

Mick

Not even Holden has records of that info - they didn't keep statistics like that, and all the old records like they have for HQ & Torana are non-existant for 80s Holdens.

The only cars that have build volumes recorded are those that were limited builds. As it was not a limited run of cars - they were simply made to order, there's nothing around.

However, you are correct about the VT (308) prefix being pretty much only in '84 VKs, as it was just into 85 when the 304 replaced it.
Cheers,

Mick
