i think the wife EB 6 cylinder needs a head gasket. The car is blowing heaps of white smoke, no evidence of water in oil or running poorly.

Mechanic coming down in the next day or so to view and determine problem. I am not moving car until he inspects it.

IF it is a head gasket, has anyone used the repair in a bottle type repair for a head gasket? has it worked? would you recommend it?

many thanks

When you have the head off check for cracks. Quite often they crack between the exhaust valves and water jacket. These cracks are usually visible to the naked eye.

Also you can NOT re use the head bolts you have to buy new ones. I have heard one case of a mechanic having to supply a customer with a reconditioned engine for free because he replaced a head gasket but not the bolts.

A couple of the bolts let go and a cylinder filled rapidly with coolant and hydraulically destroyed the engine.
