Hi people, just have a quick question.
I have a mates HD with a 186 in it connected to a 3 speed crash box. He's wanting to change over to a 3 speed all synchro.. does that still involve changing over the steering columns to match the linkages or will be okay for a straight swap in the HD? And the cross brace need to be modified as well by memory.. if anyone point me in the right direct, that would be great.
Also just quickly, its it worth rebuilding the 3 speed crash box in it if he doesn't do the change or are the heaps of half decent second handies floating around?
Cheers, Jeremy

The all-synchro box itself is an easy fit but you really need a floor shifter, as the HD column linkages are not compatible.
Assuming the car is already a 3-sp manual, to fit the box you will need a Powerglide crossmember & tailshaft, an all-synchro clutch plate & an LC/LJ speedo cable. To operate the clutch you will need an FE-EK slave cylinder & a Dellow mount bracket.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |
