hi guys I have a Sydney built hk monaro and wanting to know if the firewall was painted in warrigal black along with the sub frame also what colour was the boot I am sure the adel and melb cars had the grey firewall and boot from the paints left over that were mixed together but Sydney apparently was different hoping someone can help as my car is about to get painted Edited by user Tuesday, 26 August 2014 9:26:44 AM(UTC)

Gday, My stock standard HK Sydney built (November 68) Monaro has Warrigul Black in the boot as well as engine bay + subframe.....
From all the reserach i have done it is the most likey colour used @ Pagewood on the HK GTS Monaros & Broughams as they were classed as a premium product where as other models from that plant got a flat chassis black etc....
Your on the right site for ideas & info - im sure some one will confirm your questions?

Monaro will just be slush black, ie left over paint. GTS got unbuffed gloss, same as Brougham. Not sure about the boot areas. |

I realise that the different plants had different ideas for fire wall and boot colour but great to here that the Sydney car had warrigal black its what I have been thinking I have done some homework on a apparently untouched Sydney gts hk Monaro and that had black in the boot but under the tank covers I notice it was a primer grey colour so wasn't sure what it should be
