have a 120mph sports instrument cluster in the HK which the gauges have decided to not work.have had it in & out a few times while sorting out a problem with the ignition switch.

amps,oil pressure & fuel not working but blinkers flash,am using a separate temp gauge.any advise greatly appreciated

Since all the gauges are playing up, I'd look for an earthing issue first. After I checked the fuses
One of the gurus will chime in with the wiring diagram,to confirm/deny my theory that the oil,fuel & temp gauges have a common
power supply.
That doesn't explain the ampmeter though.
Attn camry drivers. The accelerator is the skinny pedal on the right.

Chris is quite correct.
The fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge, generator lamp and handbrake indicator lamp all source their supply from the 15A fuse marked "TELL TALES, BACK UP" in the fuse box. I'm not 100% sure on HK, but later models also source the tacho supply from the same fuse. That would be the first thing to check.

The ammeter, however, requires no earth and no supply to operate, as it sources the energy required to deflect the needle from the current flowing through it. It's easy to wire incorrectly, so if you've had it out recheck the connections. There are two threaded brass studs on the rear of the ammeter, one marked "G" and one marked "B". There should be two red wires on the "G" terminal, one from the ignition switch and one to the "B+" terminal on the alternator via a hole in the firewall, and one wire on the "B" terminal which goes to the starter motor solenoid terminal via the engine harness connector (with a fusible link in the last 100mm or so).
The indicators source supply from a different fuse, so are a separate circuit completely.

With the list of things you have above not working, I'd also recheck your wiring at the ignition switch and the switch itself, as most of the items you list are fed, or pass through, the ignition switch.
If that doesn't reveal a problem, check the earths on the instrument cluster.
Check back through previous posts for a wiring diagram for the earth arrangement, as I've posted it a couple of times already.

went & checked the fuse which was fine.turned the head lights on & gauges & hand brake light worked,so i guess i`ve cross wired something when doing the ignition switch

the ammeter has never had any wiring hooked up to it so will have to get that sorted

gauges are working,had 2 wires the wrong way around on the fuse block,just need to wire up the ammeter now
