alternator not puting out a charge

After changing all the items i finally got 12 volts back to the lead wire and the alternator still isnt puting out a charge. what am i missing? Maybe you could get hold of an amp metre hook this up to your alternator this way you can see ju

The battery would be running completly flat if i would let it go that far. I test as soon as i start the car to watch for the spike. I
