Basic push button radio was standard I believe mate, then the cassette player was the next option up. 8 track would have been an option for sure cos they were not standard on anything I dont think.

This car has serious, yet innocent looking, RUST problems! There is no way this POS is worth $17K, especially considering its an XC.

Yep - he would have got it for $7k if he had used a sniper program like jBidWatcher to bid in the last 5 seconds...

Well here is a classic example. a fellow listed his V8 Fairmont Ghia a few times with a reserve.
The bidding reached about $2,600 but didnt reach reserve on more than one occasion which is fair
enough. He then lists the car for $1 with no reserve. A foolhardy move you would think BUT bidders
IDs are kept private (presumably so he can shill bid). The car finally "sells" for $2,650 which is still below his previous reserve:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/w...&rd=1&item=150231554295

Now an identical even down to the rego number car appears on eBay listed "for a friend" from an
entirely different user:

Some people say I am out of shape but they are wrong.....Round is a shape.

Yet people still think that Ebay is an accurate way to gauge the worth of thier car/parts when its almost always baloney.

$499 for a broken dash, and apparently the switches are worth nearly $1000

Looks like someones realised his dodgy dash might not be worth $400 with a further $1000 worth of switches.....

Easy fix, take all the switches out,

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/X...DVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Smartest thing youve done in a long while champ....still a POS broken dash though.

Ive actually seen wiper switches go on ebay for over $300 in that condition. Yes they were NOS in the box
but once you pull it out of the box and put it in the dash who is going to know anyhow?

Yeah but Paul, we all know what ArmourAll can do to make a gauge look a lot newer than it actually is.

NOS gauges may be worth **** loads, but if they are in a dash, then its a pretty sure bet that they are 30+ years old. Complete dashs are not the place to be flogging NOS gauges.

I was actually looking at the stenciling more than anything. Personally Id rather one of Shanes reconditioned switches. I put a NOS headlight switch in the car at the same time as one of Shanes wiper switches. The NOS headlight switch has gone funny already but the wiper switch still looks A1. I think its because even a NOS switch is still 30 plus years old and plastic doesnt age well. Even stuff that has been in a box all that time. Once it sees daylight it starts to deteriorate pretty quick.

They are at it again.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/F...O_W0QQitemZ180241796126

It sold for $2025 a couple of weeks ago and its still for sale and yet no bad feedback for the previous successful bidder:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/F...O_W0QQitemZ180245261697

I think after the amount of times this car has been listed (and sold) eBay has determined that its market value is between $2000 and $2,500.
