I thought the guy with the bad grammar was just joking with his ebay ad.Then I had a look at his or her other items and the spelling was just as shocking.

There is a guy on Ebay selling his "super rare" rear windscreen and side windows to suit XB coupe at the moment. Grab a bargain, bidding starts at $1200. He says he needs the cash, I think he wont be getting it! He has not taken pics of them, just his car. He says it is his spare set, I reckon he knew it was not worth pulling them out of the shed and taking pics as he knows he is dreaming!

Someone has to post this 1 up! 2 NOS XA XB Falcon coupe rear quarter panels for $16,000. No, I did not add an extra zero in there! Maybe he did? I know they are rare as rocking horse s***, But you could nearly buy a nice complete coupe for that price! He must be getting worried someone will re-produce these panels better than the originals soon, and wants to cash in on them now! It was under XA XB Ford NOS.

You could invest a fraction of that amount in panel and rust repair work on a pair of crap quarters and end up with something just as good as NOS. Theres just no helping some people.

This is what happens when someone gets told by a mate...."Hey, you know that POS XA sedan you have with the big dent in the door and is a real nothing car, well I saw they go for thousands on Ebay, you should whack it up there and ask top dollar!"

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/sale-/25...ries&hash=item3a5a684fd1

For 8 grand, id want K code, pwr steer, 4 speed, fast glass and GS in need of a resto, not a mis-matched nothing car thats one step from the wreckers!

Maybe it is a "genuine" Mcleod striped car that was sold as a used car a couple of years later by Brian Pollock Ford. Funny thing is that Pollock sticker appears to be on a green car not a red one.

At least the start price is cheap even if it's below reserve.

Jim,

If you look on one of the other photos you'll see it has a green boot lid, it's the same photo that shows all the rust in the rear quarters and along the tail light panel....STAY AWAY for gods sake people!

Those stripes could have been put on there by anyone, possibly Brian Pollock trying to cash in on the popularity of Horn cars but most likely by Joe Bloggs in 1980 in his back shed. I thought that genuine Horn cars were a little more exciting than a bog stock Falcon 500 6 cylinder POS, like where's the funky seat trim that the horn cars were famous for?

But on a more interesting note, since when is such a car worth any more than any other falcon, just because it was sold by McLeod Ford??? Looks like a whole new generation of RPO83 mystery cars coming up, now every second XA and XB will be one of the rare and famous 'McLeod Ford Horn Cars', buy it now for $10000!

It's just a stripe fella's, get over it!

I know this sounds strange but you could buy mc leod ford horn cars from other dealers. Most had more than stripes. My XB fairmont coupe has front & rear spoilers, side stipes, bonnet stripes, Mabo trim, & mags. But in its day it would have been a wild bit of gear Ron

Thanks Ron, that is interesting.

I still fail to see why these cars are worth 1c more than any other car if they don't have all the bells and whistles of a typical McLeod Ford Horn car, like, as you said the funky interior trim etc.

The stripes on that car above do not a horn car make!

So, it's a standard sump that also has had the added benefit of having the crappers kicked out of it.....

The item is good the price is more than reasonable but the car is a write off never to be re registered and he intends to use the VIN and ID plates on another car????

When he goes to register that other car he's in for a headache if this Fairlane is truly on the written off vehicle register.

I read it as being that he considers the car to be a write off and not that it is an officially recorded write off.
I think he is saying that he is selling it for parts only and that you won't be able to re-register it because he is taking the ID plates off it.
It does make you wonder what the deal is with the car he is re-plating though!!!

"light damage" I'm no smash repairer but I would call that in the words of Pickles auctions heavy panel and light structural damage but certainly in no way light damage.

No one has posted here for a few weeks so here goes.

Here is a nice little markup as postage of a magazine to the US costs about $13
