Hi all just after every one's ideas on some bucket seats for my tonner. I have looked at most types upto WB but am not too happy with the look of them. I was thinking about something from commy but dont know anything about how they would fit in a HZ shell ( Old school builder only ) any thought's ????? Cheers Jim

The SLE commy ones are good the drivers side comes with an adjustable height lever which is handy for getting in and out and is not so close the wheel. You need to drill 2 or 3 holes for the bolts and put plates under the the bolts.

LX/UC Torana buckets (the tombstone variety) are very comfy and scalloped better than the late Holden version (as I recall).

The runners are very similar to the full size Holdens but you would need to put runners to suit a tonner on them.

Try to get some original WB commercial buckets. These are basically the same as VB/VC/VH seats, but they have different runners to fit into the HZ floor (which WB commercials have). WB Caprice seats should also fit but you will need the WB commercial runn

Thanks for the tips all but a quick question for Byron, Why is it that I have deville ( WB ) seats in it now ( I am looking for seats with a bit more modern look ) and they are bolted into the captive nut that come from the factory ( near trans tunnel ) ?

Probably because they've got Kingswood runners on them. AFAIK the Kingswood, Deville and Caprice seats are the same basic thing, but only the Kingswood seats have the runners to suit a HQ-HZ floorpan as the commercials continued with this floorpan, but th

Hi Jim,

Do your runners have 1 or 2 bolts at each end of the runners?

If they have 2 (making a total of 8 bolts per seat with the bolts being either side of the runner), they are Kingswood (to use Byron's terminology) runners.

Not quite. WB 'Kingswood' runners are very different to HJ-HZ seat runners. They only have 4 bolts per seat. They bolt to the WB Statesman seats (WB Statesman and Kingswood seats are the same basic thing and also basically the same as Commodore) and also

OK their is something not working out here as the car has been in the yard since two, and I did the seat conversion from WB state myself may it be the fact that its an old ambo ?????? Cheers Jim
