If its a V6 but not a GT or an RS3100 its either not an original V6 or its a grey import.

Simply had to stick my oar in regarding what is or isnt a GT Capri - as a matter of interest I worked at the HQ of Ford of Europe in the build-operations division which included all CKD and fully assembled British and German factory bodied cars to export markets such as Australia and South Africa.
The Mk.1 Capri was build with 3-engine options; 4-pot 1600cc, 4-pot 2000cc (early cars were V4s), and the ESSEX V6-3000cc. The trim levels in each model derivative were classified under L, GL, and GXL then came the GT model derivative which basically had the GXL level of bucket-seats, different road-wheels, steering-wheel, body-stripes and GT-badging, the 3000cc GTs had the raised-bonnet bulge painted in Black over and above the body colour. All GTs could only have a BLACK Interior which included a black head-lining instead of white.
Later in life with the release of the Mk.2 body-shape the factories all changed over to the German built 2800cc COLOGNE V6 motor which was more responsive and performed better (during Mk.1 build days the Brit factories used the ESSEX unit and German plants used their COLOGNE unit). The RS3100 was a SVO-division car which had a bored-out and breathed on Cologne-2800. I may stand corrected but I seem to recall that eventually the GTs only came in 1600 and 3000 engined cars. Hope this helps those Capri fans out there.

That is why I mentioned Grey import.

In Australia you could buy a 1600 Deluxe or a 1600GT Capri in 1969.

From 1970 until 72 you could buy a 1600 deluxe, 1600XL or 3000GT No other combinations were available here except for 50 odd RS3100s in 73.
