It all depends on application. Im currently rebuilding a blue 202 for a mate, and its getting a Dynatec cam. My dads doing the machining, hes been reconditioning engines for 40 years and happily uses Dynatec products in his work. However, he only uses them in stock or mild combinations.
Thats not to say they wouldnt perform though. One person with one bad tale does not mean their products are flawed. You dont know the circumstances.
Ive had many people, when i tell them ive got a Crow cam, say "oh god, never ever use crow cams" but again, heresay. |

thanks guys, i have heard bad about pro-comp and then met a guy with a 355 pro-comp stroker. he said it took longer to balance but then engine never once failed and he said he reved it hard and drove it hard. I was reading some other forums about broken dynotec cams but its for a daily driver so should be fine i would guess. |

check the positioning of your lifters No1 pistons at top dead centre will have both closed and No2 should have the inlet open and just follow your firing order to work out your timing... also with the No1 piston at TDC with both lifters closed your rotor buton should be pointing at No1 lead on your dizzy cap if its not you dizzy is 180 degrees out. |

Dynotec are made by precision industries, they also supply quality bearings, and manufacture decent rods.
Its probably the only thing sss havent ripped off, and as such, i would have no problem using a dynotec cam.

have used many dynotec cams in chev engines for boats, never had a failure. a street/drag engine goes up and down in the rev range, a boat is flat out all the time. the cam going into the 327 for the hk of mine is also a dynotec.

This is the reason i DIDNT buy a dynotec cam. I decided to go a mild Camtech cam and lifters. Mine is: inlet duration @ .050" 214 degrees exhaust duration @ .050" 214 degrees lobe separation 112 degrees
