looks like shes had a hard life. :( planing to restore it though eh? factory specs? whats the paint/trim combo? what driveline WAS it, and whats it now? hows it run?
dunno why the fark its got a kingswood interior in it too???
love the HJs though. do it well. :)

She has had a hard life. The specs are Trim: 1894-60V Chamois/Covert, paint: 567-15940 Antellope Metallic, L32, M40, GU7. At the mo she still has a 253 in her, but Im thinking 308. Its not the original donk so not really a hassle for me. I am keepng her the original colour but I would like to change the interior to black. Any thoughts on that? Bit more progress this weekend.  I found the original paint under the boot lid seal. Got me a bit excited. Should be a nice colour.  Cheers Peter

Gday mate. Hey Chamois/covert! Dont see that around very often. I have a HZ sandman with that trim and always thought it was strange how the dash and glove box were different shades of green. But yours is the same. heres a photo of mine.

Gday Hainzy,
Are they the original door trims? They are the same as I have but I thought they were Prem. I was told on this forum they were Kingswood trims. Im just not sure hey!! To many choices.

Gday mate.
Im not sure what they are. My sandman came from tamworth, so most of the interior had ben destroyed by the sun. Another blo9ke sourced these replacement bits. I still have the original seats and crashpad which are rooted but im not sure if the door trims are kingy or prem or what... Someone like Dr terry or Byron would know.

According to Warren Turnbull they are correct Sandman door trims. Not sure how I ended up with a pair in my munro though, I just dont think there is enough room to fit a matress in the back to call mine a Sandman :) I might have to part with them to get an original set.

Here you go lads. Ive been a bit busy at work lately and not had much time for anything on the rocket. I now have 5 weeks off and have lots of ideas how to fill in time. Finally got the engine and tranny out. Holy crap its filthy underneath.   There is a bit of cleaning to do.  I have plans to cut some rust out in the next week or two so if all goes well I will update again when Ive done some more. Cheers Peter

Here we go then. Welding a piece in to the inner guard before the new panel goes on.  The new piece in. Needs a tidy up and finishing off but were on the way.  . My uncle cut the dog leg out while I went and got new wire for the mig. He moves pretty fast for an old bloke.  . Pulled all the front bits and bobs off and started cleaning them up. Need to hit the chassis with a wire wheel I think, shes a bit dirty.  . Found an interesting marking on the left front chassis. It is MBAW, not sure what it is but shortly you wont be able to see it through the chassis black.  Will put more up as we go. Cheers Peter
