This car was formally a 202, now fitted with a hot 308. I originally tried to maintain the 6 cylinder booster but suffered from bad fade.

I have now upgraded to the V8 booster and master cylinder. I picked this up second hand and when i originally fitted it, the pedal was extremely spongy and i had basically no brake pressure. Also a lot of air in the lines, took ages to bleed the system.

So i went and bought a brand new master cylinder and fitted it over the weekend, this time the system bled nicely and the pedal was firm. However when i got the car out onto the street the pedal was rock hard, like i could hardly press it and i had very little braking power at all?

Any ideas?? A ceised caliper? Leak from the booster?

Did it take 2 feet on the pedal to pull it up?

Rock hard sounds like no booster assistance - probably a leak in the booster - usually a split diaphragm.

Did you remember to plug the vacuum hose & one-way valve back in?
Cheers,

Mick
