I looking for a chrome plater in NSW. I'd like to get a couple of bumps rechromed and a wb statemans number plate surround but i want a good job. Has anyone got any suggestions?. I,ve heard triple plating is the best but i don't think anyone in NSW does it anymore this right? and is triple plating that much better than any other chrome plating?

tripple chrome plating is just a 3 step process as opposed to a nickel chrome job. it uses copper as a "undercoat" for the nickel then to give the nice blue effect is chrome, nickel is yellow.Wouldnt have a clue who does it up there, I used to in queensland. But as far as using copper under nickel, whatever, its usually used as a buildup so take it or leave it.

Perfection Plating in Queanbeyan do a great job, although I had to use All Metal Bumpers in Ingelburn to do the Chev bumpers (also good job) because Perfections tanks are only 1200 long and the bumpers wouldnt fit in them.

You have to copper plate because chrome is porous and if you only chrome it the metal will rust underneath and ruin the chrome. Nickel plating is an extra precauton, for something valuable I would go the extra dollar, you can copper then nickel but nickel has a bluish tint to it, I rather like it, then you chrome over the nickel/copper, thats why the old 40s/50s cars had such good chrome, they were all triple plated.
