Hi Guys,

I have been offered a 308 manifold to suit a 6/71 blower for $800 and a GM 6/71 blower without front snout? for $500. No pulleys or anything else. Is the asking price reasonable or cheap or over-priced????

I await responses from those more learned than I.

Cheers,
Allan

its the manifold for the 308 which was also going to be expensive, as well as the pulley set up
$800 for the manifold is probably ok,$500 for the blower is probably right on the money as well, because its really only a case you are buying with the blades inside. as you said, there is no snout or no pulleys, and thats where the expense now comes into it, and also if the case needs a reco, that will also have to be figured into the final figure
but, you have to remember, the GM/671 is older style blower now, so i guess if its there, in your face, and its want you want, grab it, and put in on the shelf, reco it as you get the cash, and one day you can use it, cos life is too short to say later I should have grabbed it, same as dancing with fat chicks.....
also one more thing to bear in mind, just make sure that the mainfold has not been "angle" milled to suit heads that may have been angle milled before, and does the huffer have a top plate for the carbies.

Managed to pick the manifold up for $500. Brand new never been used or machined! The blower is a 8/71 and not a 6/71 so I am umming and arring whether to get it or not. I can have it for $300 if I want it. Needs to be machined though.

Have I picked up a bargain?

Cheers,
Allan

Its amazing what people in your own neighborhood have hidden away!

The bloke I got the blower and manifold off only lives a couple of blocks away from me so it is well worth while putting a wanted ad in your local Handy Trader! You never know what will pop up!

As I said before the manifold was picked up for $500 and the 8/71 blower with carby plate and bottom pulley for $350.

Also picked up off the same bloke five (5) 14x7 Hotwire mag wheels for the Torana for $100.

Bargains are still out their!

Cheers,
Allan
