hi if some body could double assure me on this problem or give possible idears from any other nasties it could be to look for please help ?
short story , i purchased a blue 308 v5h brocky type engine , it has been recoed 20 000 kms ago which i was able to check !
upon purchasing the engine which was allready out of the car at the time , it had apparently suffered a hole in the diafram in the fuel pump & sucked oil in from the block choking the entire fuel system !
now i pulled the manifold off to give it a clean out today & turned the carb upside down & "guestamate" around a cup of sump oil came out of the carby ! seemed to be a bit thick to have been mixed with fuel ! but could this still be the problem ?
i also noticed theres a pcv valve in the front "facing the engine" left hand rocker cover , that conects to the base of the carby , is it possible that this could be the point of contamination & what would cuase oil to be sucked into the carb in this situation ?
any idears would be greatly appreciated please?
Regards: Gav
