I know strange name for topic, but it is always a kicker when you see someone trailering out a cracking old holden that has been hidden in your neighbour hood

Today sitting at lights and listening to footy, when a car float pulls around in front of me, here is a mint example of what i am sitting in a HZ Premier wagaon, Atlantis Blue, 5ltr the lot, off it goes down the street now i know it wasnt on way from some where cause was a back street it came out off

Same thing happend a few years ago 5 houses down from us, a LC GTR was dragged out of a shed, complete bloody car, now we had been there for 25+ years and never known it to be there,

Has this sort of thing happened and it kicks right in that nuts

But of thee cars i mentioned have been ones we have been looking for, and here they are under our feet

yeah i know its not holden but a phase 2 come out on a trailer late last year from down the street,

The other side is like when I moved to where I am now... the young blokes a few doors up were all driving Commodores.

They started seeing HD & HR Holdens coming and going and they mustve seen how they stood out in the street compared to all the plastic fantastics...

Soon one was driving a V8 HG Prem, then another bought a HK ute, Dad bought a HZ one tonner V8 ... and the street was more interesting for it.

Ive been working in a different area of ballarat for the last few months and when i finish around 5pm theres always a sweet HZ GTS parked outside someones house. ive never seen it anywhere else but its great to know theres some cool daily drivers out there!!

I havnt seen anything lately but Im usually buying things here there and everywhere.

Ive recently purchased a HQ ute fully worked 202 just needs to be finished off that had been sitting in a shed for 12odd years and only up the road from me.

Same thing with my HQ Kingswood had been sitting in a shed for close to 20years and I picked it up for $500.

Cant say it has happened to me.

Seen a few treasures(normally in garages) drive by but nothing sold out of the neighbourhood.

And yes Premiers may be bland but practical, sorry but what do you own, easy to sledge when you have nothing to show

Living on Sydneys nth shore its a tough life if you like modified old school cars. Its all rice and asshole cops.

Luckily though there are plenty of nice cars around if you keep your eyes peeled. In my one little suburb theres a Super Street torana, another Torana sleeper with a turbod 202, my HQ, a mint HJ (i think) Statesman, a full-house SL/R replica, a GTR XU1 and quite a few others. Those are just the ones on the road. I dont know where a single one lives, but theyre all within five minutes and its cool to know they exist.

I often wonder if any of these people have little gems tucked away in their sheds.

I did spot a special one the other day, possibly a Dart, gasser/streeter styles, coming out of a back street behind my house. This same car was pictured in Street Machine during the cruise for the "Australias Fastest Real Street Car" title.

I think ill follow it home if i see it again. Haha.

Oh, and i know an old Holden guru in the shire south of Sydney with a field of FJ-FXs behind his house. You cant even see over the fence, but theyre all there, including a ute that ran 13.1 with an aspirated 202 in street trim 20 years ago. Hasnt moved in years. What a shame.

Once apon a time I was passing thru Coffs Harbour while the F%#d GT nationals were on.Here I am trapped at a set of lights surrounded by GT F@#ds.Not to bad except that I was driving a HZ Premier towing a then rusty Monaro.The kind understanding GT driver stated that I was the biggest loser because I was in the possession of not one but two heaps of s^&t.
All these years I have wondered why someone would insult me in such a way, but thanks to this thread I didn,t realise that Premiers where so badly thought of.
The many Premiers that gave up there lives so that panel vans,one tonners and utes could pretend to be pretty have died in vain.
Lest we forget. Why are people so unkind!

I was having a beer in my shed with a mate a couple of years ago, and my wife came down and said theres an old bike on a trailer up the road, she said it looks like a Kwaka 900, (she knows Im into these). My mate and I went for a walk complete with stubbies, and sure enough there was a 76 Z900 on the trailer. It turns out the owner had been killed in a mining accident many years earlier and his widow had come up from Perth to pick the bike up from her in-laws to take back and sell. We made a deal on the spot and that bike now shares my shed the the other toys.

there are a few toys in sheds near where i live....

i bought a rideon mower from a guy locally and when i went to pick it up he opened the roller door to get it out sat a VC brock and a walkinshaw... said he has had them for years but doesnt drive them much....

there is another guy witha genuine XY GT that is currently used as a chook shed... its a mess but he wont part with it... i guess the chooks are comfy...

I also just came back from hervey bay in qld and in the house across the road under a carport was a genuine white knight charger.... nice car but the bloke didnt want to part with it....

their around thats for sure

Bit of a rumour up here on the Sunshine Coast Qld that a local fellow sold his restored green EH Premier sedan very recently for $33,000 to another local

Way back in the early to mid 80s a mate of mine was looking at buying a red HZ Sandman van. It was so good that it was in the new car showroom of a local Mistubishi dealership (they did that quite a lot with the cream of their used vehicles).

The thing was quite recognisable as it had triangular shaped windows on the rear sides which were placed to mimic the rake of the back of the stripes.

Last week I saw what was probably the same van outside a workshop in Belconnen with no rego plates so I presume that its being resurrected.

Today I saw an immaculate orange 2 door HQ GTS on a trailer heading towards town along Captains Flat road.

If at first you dont succeed then skydiving is not for you.

I know that Orange Monaro. I bought a truck off a guy out there and went to pick it up and saw the Monaro in the shed. Belonged to the guys son. Hed just finished doing it up and it looked a treat.

yesterday I saw a LX torana hatchback on a trailer heading into the suburbs , original unrestored, looked like a driver with dragway splats on it.

Last week I was going to my mate place and seen an FJ sedan being rolled out of a shed. It still had the original A prefix yellow and black NSW plates on it and was ALL ORIGINAL, rust free and complete all the way down to the hubcaps (sitting in the cab on the front floor) and tyers. I stopped and asked if they where going to sell it, but the old guy said it was his sons car and he wanted to do it up one day. I did get some pics of it on my phone and will work out how to post them here. I would say it could be cleaned up and put on club rego with very little work it was that good for a 50s car.

A few years back, a bloke I knew (who is an absolute valiant nut) was always telling me about how his dad has a farm over in Vic with a huge shed that houses about 50 plus chargers. To be honest, I never really believed him and just passed it off as piss talk.
Anyhoo, yonks later, myself and a couple of mates are around his house knocking back frosties when he says, oh yeh, Ive just got back from Vic check out this video I took of my dads shed. Bugger me, he was telling the truth! From what we saw, he would easily have 50 or so, ranging from basket cases to complete and good condition RTs & White Knights, you bloody name it, hes got it.
Apparently he wont part with any of them, so I guess theyll just sit there till he kicks off.
