Good thread
I was talking to my barber on the weekend and we got to talking about cars (he had a CV8Z) he told me that a close friend of his does bores for metro properties.
He was doing one and noticed what he thought was an SLR in the shed under covers. Got to talking to the bloke and it turned out that it was a very original A9X that hadnt come out of the shed for arounf 9 years (original radio, rims, all placards etc).
He picked it up for 60k late last year. Then spent two months pooping himself that someone would steal it and sold it for a tidy 120k.
Some people have all the luck.

yeah thats a gret pic. Wonder how many of these type of sheds are actually out there that nobody knows about. My cousin bought a red/marone 91 VN SS that had been sitting in a guys shed since 1993. He would have bought it in early 2003 it had only done 6000kms on the clock.I think he paid something like 12k for it. Thats not a bad find either.

Found this In a Mates shed Its only a commodore (VR Clubsport) It was left in the shed 4 years ago as it had a crook coil... Thats unreal. Looks like its already been in the shed for 20 years already. Looks like something out of indiana jones! My sandmans been in the shed for about 4 years too..

A great site to check out is www.carsinbarns.comHas old american classics in all sorts of predicaments. Some of them bring a tear to your eye. Maybe we can start our own oldholdensinbarns.com - surely would be enough around?

Absinth, if you go back to that museum, can you get the body number of that black FX for me?? its a 48 or 49 model. AL.

Gee thats sad to see the cars kept like that. Im not Mr clean when it comes to storing my cars but thats a bit of a joke.
I guess we all have seen or heard of the "One that got away" under our noses or friends noses ect.
"One that didnt get away"
A few years ago in the Adelaide Advertiser there was a ad for a XT Falcon $7000 ONO. My mate a Ford nut thought he would ring the number because it might be a real shmick car or just a tosser trying to get heaps for his rust bucket.
He rings the number and a nice old lady answers the phone and tells my mate that the Falcon was her husband pride and joy and they bought the car from new. The car had all the paper work and service history and was in as new condition. My mate asked her why they where selling the car, she explained that her husband had died two years ago and she was going into a nursing home and was selling her home, her car, and her husbands car.
So my mate says he will come around that afternoon for a look, he gets to the house and the old lady opens up the old wooden doors on her old garage and sitting inside was a rather dusty white Falcon.
Yeaaa! A rather dusty white manual XT GT Falcon with 40,000 original clicks on the clock..He couldnt believe his eyes. And no he didnt give her $7000 for it he gave her $15000. To this day he still cant believe that she didnt know the value of a GT even though it was her husbands pride and joy...sigh! Another reason not to get married!

Nice pick up for your mate & nice to see he didnt just drop the $7K & run. To add to your one that didnt get away post, about 18 months ago I visited a wrecker who was closing shop after 15 years & over in the far corner was a HQ sedan in a horrible green brushed on paint job, was a solid body with no trim or front end ect, while checking out the shell I noticed the original paint was showing in a few places & was Tangarine, so I checked the tags, yep a HQ GTS4 Tangarine With Doe skin & Chestnut trim, originally a 253, M40 2.76 diff, asked how much for the car as is & picked it up that arvo for $150, basically the scrap price, so a word to the unwise Check the tags!! Love your quote!
