I have no idea what it is worth so if someone has some idea could they let me know? i have been offered $9500 before.

The 2 big questions for people will be has in got rear side windows and rust. Everyone will want to know that. Now Im curious does it have a full length headlining from factory or the 1/2 one that just does the cab. Also if the original is still there what colour is it?

Maybe should re read the question as its a UTE and as far as I know they didnt have any windows in the rear load bay and no hood lining hahahaha A ute was worth more then a van some time ago as most rotted away in there trays as for now thnk the vans have the upper hand, years ago there were a few vans cut down to utes as they were worth more that way In todays market a good example is 10k easy Living the Dream |

I dont think UTES have rear side windows or full length headlinings : ) Johnny Is it an XX7 or XU3 Brisbane build? $9500 seems like a good offer if its in good condition an XU3 or XX7.. It is very hard to prove that the vehicle is a Genuine sandman if the GVW is 2200 and it has not a Brisbane build XX7 or XU3. This will pull the price back Heaps... You could always try Eb@y but then you have to put up with all the bull$hit associated with it... Just remember Its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.. Cheers Vanman

Time for glasses? Your dropping the ball, and risk blending in with most of the others here. As for the Sandman thing its amazing that there is nobody here that can answer a simple question.

i wouldnt have a clue, sandmans do not interest me at all, unless they are moly chassised, s/charged and injected, and can compete in top doorslammer, then they rate a 2nd look from me, so you are correct!

Ahh a 1/4 mile man. Fair enough. Ive noticed you lean towards the dark side, Ford and modification. The 1/4 mile goes hand in hand.

Firstly it cannot be an option XU3 as all Sandmans were XX7 in 1974. Obviously its a Melbourne build so there will be no option code on the BODY plate. Being a 253 drops its value a bit but then being a ute and a Kingswood should enhance it. However value is very much determined by condition. If its complete and OK to drive but needs some work $9,500 is probably a good deal - grab it. If its totally original and in great condition then its worth more. The chassis number seems slightly high for a 9/74 HJ though, but ill check the register when I get home. It might just be a last week 9/74 build or something like that. _______________________________________________________ If we all had the same (good) taste, who would buy all the Fords? |

well, there is no fun in making it look normal, to me anyway, when we were messing with these cars years ago, there was nothing available, but now anyone can fix and restore a car, but to make it go fast, we always had to do our own thing and still do in some cases, but, good luck to you if ya wanna go and do an a**l resto, but to me, whack a big block in it, make it manual, 9" for ease of gear changes, a 250 hp shot of gas, and we go racing. now that takes some balls and not alot of brains, but its what we like to do, and those early monaros were the ultimate item, they were cheap, heaps around, and manual. the first thing we did was throw the carby and intake, exhaust manifilds and diff off, throw them in the tip. now you guys pay stupid amounts for this rubbish!! hahaha

All pre approx 10/75 Sandmans are 2200kg V8, 2155kg 6cyl (or imperial equivalent for HQ). Before then option XX7 = Sandman. GVW derating then started approx 10/75 for option XX7 and sometime then or a bit later option XU3 was released which is the same thing but with commercial tyres and no GVW derating.
