As per my question in the Rare Spares forum, does the temp sender Rare Spares are now selling for the HK V8 have an ohmic value of 315 - 22?
Still waiting for an answer there, but as Ben says the ohmic value is the key if you want accurate temp gauge readings.
Question is, what should be marked on the sender Im now looking for?

shifty350, thanks for your advice. I agree and do not use anything in the way of sealant on senders or their adaptors, btw the sender that was reading low was wrapped in thread tape.
Will try my spares to "gauge" the results and let you know.

First sender I installed was marked VDO 6-24V 12/02 120C 002, dunno what the 002 means.
Works a treat hovers a smidge either side of the 180 mark, game over.

Trap for young players with the LED.
Once youve pushed it into the back of the gauge face you will need to paint the back of it with black paint. Otherwise when you have your dash lights on at night the led will let a small amount of background light through.
I am not fixing this because I rarely if ever drive the car at night.

Thats a bit rough bosko. While Im a stickler for originality, I do admire minor improvements which could almost be something that the factory could have done. Done neatly this temperature warning light overcomes an omission in the original layout. A red LED (not illuminated) would go virtually unnoticed by most. Dr Terry. |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

Hey bosko, have a closer look. The gauge faces are decals because they were already f*cked.
