I remember reading a few years back an article on an FC pano. It ran "slot mags" aka jellybeans, and the writer predicted theyd be the next trend. Personally, i hoped not as i'd adorned my car with a set of nicely polised 14x7's! Sure every second old dunger you see has a set of them, now filthy and pitted, but few nice new car builds. Everyone was obsessed with big wheels.

Now, they're everywhere! I spend time with my mates at the local wrecking yard. They're old Holden specialists. Every bloody car that comes by now has jellybeans! One employee down there just paid $900 for a set of polised 14x8 with 225 tyres. It's crazy.

Anybody else noticed this? Every time they come up on Ebay there's competitive bidding for them, albeit mostly the 8inch wides.

I'm about to put my four widened steelies on, a look i've always liked. Will keep the beans though. My favourite all-time wheel, and they'll be uncool again soon :-)

Jellybeans were the universal mag of the 70s and 80s, they looked good and suited pretty much any car you fitted them to. I got two Aunger 14x7s from the wreckers in 82 for $20 and they have been fitted to my work trailer ever since, best part about them is they make the trailer pretty hard to steal with a whopping great chain through one of the slots and locked around the springs.

I was wrapped when my HX Monaro came with a set of 14x7 front and 14x8 rear jellybeans, its a lot cheaper and easier to get a good set of GTS rims than it is a good set of jellybeans...

I have 14"x7" on the front and 14"x9" on the rear. Plus a full set of 14"x7" (I dont think they are 8"?) but they were painted black with yellow on the inner edges of the holes - so I hit them with paint remover and they need a good strip and rub back, then polish.

I also got a pair of 14"x7" to go on the front off ebay about 6months ago, only $30 no tyres - they are in great condition and are about half the weight of any other jellybean Ive ever lifted. Not sure on the brand but they seem to be polishing up real nice!

My Wifes ute has them on it but they are a bit different in that they have 6 jellybeans not the usual 5.

We also have a set of Magnum Eliminators which have a dish in them like a bowl with no steps from centre to rim. They are 14X7 but they look real good in 14X8.
