Its parked between a mini and another 68-71 Holden, r/h headlight is broken and someone has taken the drivers door. Could be mounted on Dunlop Guardian tyres?

Or is that the passengers door that missing. The photo could have been reversed, because you can just see the HOLDEN badge on the GTS grille, on the drivers side ?? Dr Terry |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

I did ponder that doc, problem was it doesnt look like the block letter HOLDEN emblem though. It looks a little more like the script style of emblem. Maybe we can ask for a better quality picture? Other problem points. The grille is painted out for GTS. The Hood doesnt have a GTS emblem or stripes. The side we can see appears to have wheel arch moulds as in GTS. The hood doesnt appear to have moulds. Doesnt appear to have a rear seat and the bucket trim looks more HG than HK but the photo as I said is poor. Is the hood painted black on the underside of the skin?

Love the photos, especially monaros, they show a snap shot of history. The meaning or intent of the photo has changed with the passage of time. Why was the photo taken in the first place, someones pride and joy destroyed, police photo stolen car,was the car crashed before the second repayment was made. How was the drivers life changed by this event? Are they now owners of another monaro due to midlife crisis. Present day the photo is a reference to what type of monaro is this, what type of life did it lead, raced, draged,or an old mans car. I have a news paper front page that shows a HK monaro crushed by a collapsed wall cira 1968. Had it framed and it hangs in the pool room. Its just as interesting as any action monaro photos. Is there a place on the web or this forum for this type photo.

We wreck I do love original cars but would that bright blue metallic Hk in your pics be for sale ? It looks brilliant/original and a 454 i must say looks like it finished it off nicely. If it is or isnt for sale. Not even sure if its yours , what price do you think it is worth $$ ? ? Thanks

Ok
Seriously though nice.Is it yours ?
Thought with all the talk of genuine , original and numbers matching cars and there values it would be interesting to see what something that is not quite original would draw price comments on ? ? ?

mateeeeeeee,
everything is for sale, apart from my wife, and she is for rent. seriously, the car belongs to a very, very close friend of mine, and if he was to sell it, id imagine you would be paying for his research, and the killer; "time over distance". just the pre planning was a feat in itsself.
there is around 400hrs alone in front end/steer/ eng set up to make it right, and then there is everything else required for it to gain FULL VIC REGO,which it has, so really if you sat down and worked all that out, that car would right up there with the best of them in dollar value, but i guess i could ask him what he wants for it, cos end of the day, its just a HK with a 454, glide, and floating rear end that looks factory and drives about 796 times better than any of those original concourse restored examples which anyone can do, but to piece together this kind of machine, well thats a different story that one must admire..

personaly i would preffer the big block HK, When i had the HG monaro wreck which i couldnt aford parts for. my plan was to make the interior and body origanal and put a driveline of my choice in. would rather have people cheering as i did a power skid then admire how its looks origanal and blows the opal 4 speed if i droped the clutch. im not sure bout the HP, but it motors along the road very well. it really is a work of art, the headers are spot on(like you try making 2 1/8" pipes fit in there, and get the hood to close without a scoop, whilst making sure the pinion angle at the front uni is still ok cos the engine is low for hood clearance, whilst mahing sure the floor stays intact).... the steering is magnificent, brakes are awesome, and the general ride is really a credit to his work. on the bench is...well...im sworn is secrecy there, all i can say is "watch this space", and you might even see my ugly head pop up!!
