G'day All, I was lookin at the extractors that came with the new engine today and tryin to see the difference between the red and blue/black motor exhaust mounts, even tried measuring them as best I could in situ, and it looks to me to be very close, not much in it, I have been told that they are different, but,I would like to know if the red motor ones on the car can be modified to fit when I put the blue motor in, to save a bit of time and money, or is this not a viable option? any advice appreciated. Thanks. Russ.
P.S. the ones that came with the engine are a bit rusted out, could still be used but have a different angle on the outlet so would need to be cut and welded to match to the existing exhaust system.

Hi Russ,
We are talking 6 cyl Red and Blue motors here, aren't we?
If that is the case, using a bit of persuasion supplied by Mr Oxy and Mr Hammer, they will bolt on.
However, the port shapes on the reds and blues are quite different and I doubt

From my memory the outer two ports are slightly further apart than on the red motor. The exhaust ports are basically the same though. I did this once, and there was enough stretch in the outer two pipes (about 4-5mm in each pipe) to allow them to mate up |
