HQ80180=6cyl Belmont Ute
067560M=Sequential production number Melbourne plant
1819-21A=Antique Saddle
568-13132=Covert Beige

The reason the Eng-Trans-RRAxle are not stamped was because they are base. In other words Base Engine, Base Trans, Base Diff.
These spaces only get stamped if it was optioned ie if it had a 4 speed or LSD or odd ratio diff or Auto etc.

Mr Pink and James are spot on with their comments. I can add the following;
It left the production line on 15/2/73 with 173 # QD289403, 3 speed manual, and 3.55 diff. It also had front drum brakes. It was sold during Feb 72 by Masseys of Yarraville. (Dealer code 457).
Hope this helps.
Andy.

Thanks for that doc I realise that both are paint numbers and the shorter one is the GMH one but felt it would not add to the explaination, to add this info would probably confuse the guy. As soon as this door opens they all ask why the 2 numbers meaning the same thing?
If you want to impress me 21 is Antique Saddle but what is A? I think you feel a little short yourself.

If you go here
http://gallery.oldholden...ml?g2_imageViewsIndex=1
there is a sample picture of your paint color in that chart and if you go here
http://gallery.oldholden...e+Saddle+Brown/Belmont/
there are pictures of 21A trim.
If your car is still painted in covert beige Leroy will probably be interested in pictures of it.

MrPink ??

I think that youve just got out on the wrong side of the bed this morning, so I will make allowances for that.

AFAIK the A suffix is to denote Belmont trim, because in that same trim number series a Kingswood with the same material is a B.

The first part of the TRIM number & the PAINT number dont always mean the same thing. This becomes very apparent on two-tone cars.

Well I dont have anything to do with football either had to listen to guys going on about Paramatta Eels, and Go the Dragons etc for years at morning tea time.
But Iam an assh@le.

You are picking on the wrong bloke. Im not big on self esteem or pedestals.
Well if this is true why do you get to the painful point all the time?
I have a Kraut friend and he is the same way, you can say Man there has to be over a hundred cars in this car park and a minute later he would reply No theres 106 cars there
The fact is it is irrelevent as was your earlier statement, the guy wanted to know the colour, trim etc. Well he had it, anymore was irrelevent.
I know you are precise and thats fine but relax doc.

You are the first to point this out. I didnt release I was getting to any painful points.

All I did was point out to the poster that the TRIM number wasnt just for the interior trim, which is the commonly held view. Thats my crime.

If you are getting upset at that, maybe its time for you to relax.

Im only on this site to help & be entertained, not whinged at.
