Hey all I have an EH station wagon with a mild/hot 202 in it still running standard 3 speed (refuse to butcher floor) and standard station wagon diff (3.55, 3.65?). I am wanting to lower my diff ratio as it goes awesome of the line but is revving at 3200 at 80km/h, part of this is carburetta way out of tune and standard ignition doesn't help. But my question is can i just change the diff centre? And does the diff need to be removed from car to do it, or can it jsut be put on ramps? The diff whines occasionally, does this mean that it needs a complete reco? Should the banjo be able to handle the torque the engine is putting out with occasional dumping of clutch?
Sorry i wrote a fair bit
Thanks 4dice

Banjos are a weak piece of %$#t! But, you are running the standard 3-speed which is even weaker, and it obviously handles it OK so your diff (and/or gearbox) will probably survive as long as you don't fit an LSD. Having skinny tyres also helps. As far as |

What diff can be placed in without going overboard, salisbary (can't spell) v8 banjo? I would like to keep costs down, so would prefer not to have to change modify driveshaft or wheel set-up.
Also is a 3 synchro gearbox stronger then crash box

V8 banjo is equally as strong (ie weak) as a 6cyl one. Only difference is the front uni size.
A HQ-WB, A9X or VB-VK Salisbury will fit, but you will have to change the tailshaft anyway as they all use bigger unis. The biggest problem is getting axles s |
