Hi everyone,
Im currently rebuilding a 253 and after a bit of advice. Its a 253 red cast late 76 and the pistons are stuffed, the bore has a slight lip at the top, which supposedly will require are rebore, i was wondering whether 283(?) s/b chev pistons will match up with the 253 conrod and crank, so that i will only need to bore out the block to accomodate the s/b chev pistons. Is this a feasable approach? I am assuming that with this i may need to shave the heads a bit, which i wanted to do slightly anyway to increase compression.
Does this sound all to simple??
All advice greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Nic.

Thanks for clearing that up, Byron. I think that I will stick with the original plan of oversized 253 pistons. As you can obviously gather, I don't have much of an idea with eng intenals. Also, thanks for the offer with parts, however I'm in Tas, and l
