Hey all, yesterday i got my first car.

originally all beige belmont with a HC 173 and column 3spd manual, drums all round. now a mixture of white black blue and a range of orange and yellow rust and a greasy 202 paired to a trimatic with a really crap sports dash. i think the only original thing on the car is the diff :) if it's too much work ill pass it on but i hope to do it up. i have no experience so my first question is how to get those bloody wiper arms off?

Easy as just get a screw driver and lever them off.

With the drivers one though there should be a little arm thats secured by a small clip just pop that off aswell.

Looks the goods mate. Should be a good start.

Got any pics of the engine bay and the interior/dash??

Cheers Stephen

cheers for the advice Stephen, By the way your HT looks a Gem.

the dash on its been cut and just really crappy. they put new floors in and covered it up with some sort of acoustic barrier. left sides held up well but the drivers side is starting to rust again. so i need to get on top of where the water leaks in from.

nah mate unfortunately it has turned into a parts car for my new car a HQ wagon. The ute was a real nice looking thing with the off white but once i found the chassis rust/cracks and all the other cancer with it, i just dont have the funds to restore it.

it's not the ute or sedan i had been looking for, but the main work required is in the engine bay :) and my mates reckon it will be a chick magnet! phhhhhh not when i give it the grandpa treatment.

cheers

WOW thats a straight one! very nice indeed, dumped on stockies with hub caps, dress trims and white walls and it would look awesome, and maybe a set of venetians! nothing wrong with the grandpa treatment, when there as good as that they should be kept original, at least its not a commodore!

yeh the grandpa treatment is the chrome strip on the bonnet, the sunvisor, the venitians, whitewalls and chrome mesh headlight covers. Original is the way to go indeed, and yeh its not a commodore :)
