Can anyone tell me exactly (photos, measurements etc)where these chassis bracing bars fit. do they pick up existing holes or do I need to drill some.

The holes will be there on HZ and WB that had them. See if you can find a WB Statesman and look. Holes are on the engine crossmember and on the chassis adjacent to the body bolts under your feet (one on drivers side and one on passengers side). Bars are left and right handed too. If you dont have them yet just get them and the bolts off a WB Statesman.
As a side note, I have a late HX tonner chassis and it has the holes too. They might be there on all chassis with RTS suspension geometry.

I believe they were standard on commercials and V8s in the HZ model but all HZ subframes had the holes for them. I took a pair off an HZ ute I wrecked and put them on my HJ Coupe which has an HZ wagon subframe under it and the mounting holes were there.
