Bollocks its all nice and original . The car has a heap of parts that are incorrect . Sure it has its wheelarch moulds, air cleaner and the like, but check under the bonnet , its a dogs breakfast under there . I know of the car and its an original car but needs the full treatment to make it worth its money like most of them. Its a croc that its worth more cause its in underbelly ! A cheap paint job and some shine and most people seem to be fooled . Thats ok when you own a $3000 Kinga , but not a Big $$$$ Monaro.

Im with you Sebring Orange, I just looked at the photos and read the Shannons blurb.
If the rest of that HK is as good as under the hood well it will need a full on resto, what a piece of sh1t! Looks like something Bill Fartollo would sell, but no doubt its in with a chance of winning the next nationals. Give it to dazza and he can get some autographs under the hood and that should do it, well wazza?
$160k hahahahaha.

OMG johnathon,
you really believe a HK is worth big dollars?????. they are worth what a HK is worth, and thats not a great deal at all. sorry to you and all the fellas, but the best GTS 327 Car may pull $80-100k IF LUCKY, and thats gotta be to a guy that is busting to own it, and if you had a MINT HK, and wanted to sell it, and you knocked back $80-100k, there would then be 2 fools;

fool number 1; is the person offering that sort of money
fool number 2; the person that knocks that sort of money back

well put we wreck, the other side is there are some out there
that will and can easily afford that and think nothing of it.
It has matching numbers...which im not into, but for that price I would surely want. If it looks the business...it is the business.

Have a look at the photos and the blurb on the Shannons site. Now if they were talking $50,000-$75,000 then thats different. Ive never seen such a mess under the hood and it makes you wonder what the rest is like? Im going to guess its about the same. $160,000 I dont think that genuine good 327s are getting that amount let alone a mess that needs restoring. It would cost thousands to fix up under the hood alone assuming you can find the missing pieces to buy.
Oh I forgot it was in a TV show, well that adds zip to its value for me.
There are much better buys on the Aussie Muscle Car site, try the nice white 327.

10 times better car for the same amount.

Cool
Just wanted to know. I just had a good look at it and can see what you are saying.Thats a lot of money for that especially since you have to spend more money on it. Are parts that hard to find as I do know were there is a HK daily driver I see in my area that will need a lot of work if I can get the owner to part with it. No joy so far but I can be patient.

You did not read my email properly we wreck , i just meant if anyone were to pay high money it would want to be a damn good one. I have to agree with you on prices at the moment thats about all people will pay . But when times come good it does not matter what you or i think , people are like sheep and investors go with where the money is and these cars will get up there again . Is a GTHO Phase 111 Taxi worth a Million dollars or even 600-800K like people paid in the past ? You and i know that they are not , but people will pay it for the right cars. They are "just" cars in world terms , but an icon to Aussies hence the money . A 57 Chev is a piece of junk really in comparison to many cars ,many will get mad at that statement , but if you disagree it is out of ignorance more than anything . But they are an icon in the US and here , only because one person wants one and everyone else follows , so they are worth mega buck and is out of yours and my control Frank . So let people do what they think is best for them . After all we all dream of some car or grew up with one , even if you or i dont like it .

Thanks Dr Phil !

I reckon thats great value that HG i actually saw that . You could finish the engine bay up no sweat , there is a guy in Melbourne who sells all that engine bay stuff for Monaros i am told , and then do the final finishing touches of detailing and lower it to the right height and voila . Only thing is its the second worst colour in HG monaros only outdone by Florentine Bronze/Gold.

like i said jonny, thats all any monaro is worth, be it spot on or pristine, they always have been, and will be soft in value.
as much as i hate to say it, even a good replica GT fetches more, and they also are definetely not worth it as well

I reckon the only reason XW, XY and XA GTs pull so much is Ford in Australia didnt make anything else worth having (in my opinion).

Someone must be paying these dollars otherwise why would they keep asking these prices.
Are these cars selling at this ammount, or are we just seeing the asking price but they eventually sell no were near that price.
Does anybody know?

I have not heard of any of the publicly listed HK 327s or ones through the traps of my group in Adelaide breaking 100K for well over a year now .
Notice all the Monaros on Aussie Muscle car site are not getting sold anymore .
What ever happened to that Yellow HK 327 that was on their for ages with the Video of it ?

Probably getting the restamped block numbers fixed. That would be getting the block restamped again.

If you were to see it at the nationals the 3 in the engine number was a round on the top 3 not as it should be a square on the top 3. Yep they used the wrong stamps.
Sad but true and it won the nationals at Loxton making the saga even sadder, how would second place feel if he knew this. It gets back to that horrendous arguement on the judges.

Get your facts right idiot...

Loxton Nationals.

A Pinnaroo Beige car won Concours.
A Piccardy Red 327 won Original Class.

Nup... No yellow HK winning an original trophy here.

So before you go shooting your mouth off at things unknown... make sure the facts are correct.
