Yes HT HG 350 (388 & 618 Blocks )do not have the code after the Date like the H5 on HK 327 Series 1. Seen many that are T0401 and T0402 date .
Also note that the Canadian/Mckinnon Blocks have the date code on the drivers side of the block in large numerals, unlike the US engines that have the cast date at the rear top of the block.
307 and 327 Series 2 have the "M" in the square next to the cast number and the HQ 350s have "K" cast there instead .
The number after the "K" or "GM" is the die number and if you ever see "CONV" that means the "conveyor" and then the number after that .
Hope this helps

Hi Billa,

Going through some info and found your car, was a press car for South Australia, build date 8/5/69.

Does not have the schedule for who tested it, but would be easy to find in South Australian newspapers etc.

Other test cars were a gold Kingswood V8 4 speed(was to be green but changed at last minute) and a Monarco Moroon Brougham. Have a sort of road test on the 307 Premier and 253 4 speed Kingswood. Do not mention enough to confirm if your car is one ot them, but shall keep looking.

Warren

ps is that a good enought answer Noel?

I bought a 308 Powerglide HT Kingswood years ago. It was a column shift and banjo. All the running gear was transplanted into a friends HK Premier. Also once came across a HK 307 4spd Premier wagon.

Hi Warren,
I found the information I was looking for.
My car + 3 other premier amongst other kingswoods etc were picked to show case the new HT models to the press @ Warrick Farm raceway.
The 4 premiers represented SA, Vic, NSW and Qld. Mine was the only one made in Adl, that stayed in SA and still has the same rego number.
It was an interesting read, the planning of the event, the cars selected, who was invited etc.
I have some great history on this car now, only problem is I'm to scared to drive it now, just in case something happens.

If you know anyone looking for a collector piece, especially from SA, let me know as I could be interested in doing a trade + cash.

Cheers - Bill

Thats good news Bill.

Not many "collectors" out there, but someone might be interested in owning something a bit unique.
