well men.
finally have come to the moment of truth,
i am about to take the bcb camperervan of the century for it trip to queensland.
so i am taking bets on the following>>
how far will the machine get before breaking down?
how many times i will get pulled over by the plod.?
how many times i will get pulled over by the plod for nothing???
what will go wrong??
will write a note each day on the daily doings, and the hopefully cruizy journey?
thanks to all your support over the time, it would not have been possible without all your support.
cheers
bcb

it was but yesterday, i thought myself a fragment, quivering without rythum in the sphere of life.
now i know i am the sphere, and all of life quivers in rythmic fragments, within me!

Yes good luck Bear. If you are going up the Newell I reckon the cops out in the QLD boonies might have a chat to you because red cars are always speeding 8-).

day 1.
part 1.
it was a still cold foggy morning, no creature dared make a sound, my heartbeat was the only sound.
jumped in l van,, turned her over,, and BINGO!! she started!! amazing grace.
got her onto the road and ever so gently spurred her down to the corner, nice, smooth,, no grunting to go anywhere.
onto the highway,, and O/oh! wont get up to revs in 3rd??
battled on, she stopped at 15k,s??
got her started again, limped to moama,,had mech look,, and shiver me timbers! 2 leads back the front!!
you gotta laugh..
so onto get exhaust done good,,
found brake leak,, fixed that,, then on to shepp atill wont rev in top,, carries on,, not good,,20k,x top speed.. the pipe that coms from back of carbee,, has broken from top of manifold.. so i put scrw in it,, and mucho bettre,, but off to carbee bloke tomorro,, at least i made it to shepp..
cheers

after yelling out heaps, he finally had to let his foot of brake to see if it was in d,
jumped into her drove to holbrook, drove into furst tyre shop mech,, and then waited for 4 hours for the bloke to finsh doing a diff swap.
it took 4 minutes, but i found the auto trans cooling pipe, had a leak, so redid that!!
got in drove to gundagai,, drove well,, will find a betterer way to do auto trans pipes, tomorro.

day 4 pt1
drove without breaking down!!! unbelievable, touch wood,,!
checked fuel usage,, with towing trailer, etc,, 7 klms to litre?? i am not sure, but i dont think that is too bad??
van weighs about 1700kilo,s trailer 750kilos,,hhmm?
if it had a good tune, and the air fuel was set correctomundo..
the carbee is not 100% either, as the big air flap, is very sticky,, i am sure the auto is not cooling the trans fluid well neither..
so need to do the following>
1. get ali trans cooler,
2. get brakes bled
3. see if i can set air fuel set.
4. get laid
5. sleep
6. get laid
cheers

day 4 pt 2.
have made it to nearly newcastle,,
didnt get anything done on her today, she is using a little oil,, about 1/2litre so far,, 1000clicks approx.
will definately get trans cooler done tomorro, and plan on flushing out radiator..
apart from that she goes good,, i dont normally speed, too dangerous, but on the newcastle freeway,, smooth road,, planted it a bit,, was nice driving, up to 140k,s if speedo is correct,
had a few harleys cruise around me, certainly turning heads!!
tell ya, mad max has nothing on this.
cheers

Newcastle thats good progress in one day.

If your present fuel economy is on petrol then you are doing quite well if its on LPG you are doing brilliantly.

7km/litre I calculate to be about 19.5mpg in the old money or 14.3l per 100km. My Falcon does around 15L per 100km on LPG around town unladen.
